I've
just been flicking through the new releases gallery of NZ Creative Stitch
and craft and just noticed the beautiful trammed tapestries from Margot.
They bring back memories of the first time I saw them while travelling
through the craft shops of Austria and Switzerland a few years back.
They come in the following combinations: 1. ABC; 2.

They are from the catalogue of latest designs put out by Lanarte. In the same catalogue Lanarte
have
captured the latest trend in home decoration. The four cross stitch
designs of Japanese and Chinese origin are consistent with that theme
A lot of contemporary
designs are now being strongly influenced by non western cultures.
These embroideries stitched on specially printed fabric capture the essence
of Japanese design to perfection.
On
the back cover of the NZ Creative Stitch & Craft are these Assisi
Pincushion designs. They were worked in DMC variegated Stranded Cotton
on the latest pastel coloured linens from Zweigart. Fat quarters
of the Cashel 28ct Linen and 32ct Belfast Linen.
These are available
in the following new colours - 227 Yellow; 402 Carnation Pink; 448 Apricot;
558 Lilac; 562 Ice Blue; 633 Mint Green.

Tramming is where wool threads are stretched along
the horizontal weft threads of the canvas in place of a screen printed
design. What made them stand out was the huge palette of colours
and the awesome shading effects achieved. The larger sized canvases
would be ideal for covering chairs, stools and cushions where you
can choose a background colour to match your décor. Above
