At the end of the last century families with the name O'Farrell were outnumbered fifteen to one by Farrells who had lost the prefix. Today the Farrells are still more numerous that the O'Farrells but as many families have reassumed the prefix in this century, now one quarter to one third of the decendants of the O'Fearghaill sept are O'Farrell. Hello Bill,

Looking at my Road Atlas I found three Kirkland's in Cumberland (now
Cumbria) but looking through my CUMBRIANS in LIVERPOOL Vols - the only Ann
PRESTON b1826 was stated to be born in Blencene which isn't in my Atlas!! I
think it should be Blencarn which happens to be near a Kirkland by Penrith!!
Anyway - here she is from the Cumbrians in Liverpool:

I also checked my 1851 Liverpool census CD for Ann & here she is:
