Well its been six months since Brenda and I  took over running The Embroidery shop.  And oh how the time has flown by.  So fast in fact that I only realised the other day that we hadn't sent out a newsletter in ages.  Mind you  we haven't been idle and
have spent the last month or so collecting lots ideas for this issue.  We decided it was time to celebrate the efforts of New Zealand designers and manufacturers.  So take a look inside where we are profiling the latest and greatest from Krafty Kiwi's.
Before moving on though I thought you may be interested in this wonderful compendium of Christmas designs.  I reckon there is nothing better than personally made decorations and gifts. In this book from the American School of needlework you will fund an amazing array of designs from the whimsical Santa's to the traditional twelve days of Christmas.   Usually retailing for $62.90 it is available  to you for just $50.

To help you get started straight away why not grab some Hobby Art Canvas from Zweigart.  The canvas is available in black, yellow, cream, pink, lt blue, navy, lt green, pewter & Xmas red and is especially suitable for cards and decorations.  When combined with pipe cleaners it makes great 3-D shapes for the tree .  Hobby art canvas is 100% cotton and is available in 12, 14 and 18 count, in handy pre-cut sizes (33cm x 40cm) with 5 pieces per packet.   And if you like we can put together a selection of festive threads to complete the package.  So lets make this Christmas really special .

Code ZHAC Hobby Art Canvas  $29.95 per 5 pack

canvas and the twist thread on the front.  While on  the back I have created a blockwork pattern using the rayon thread.  The finishing touch is a cord made from the stranded cotton.
If you are interested in making this sachet  I would be happy to put a kit together for you.  The colourway I used was pink Cashel 28ct Linen mentioned in our last newsletter with Dyepot Trio C variegated dark pinks light pinks and mauves.
